Mission: The McDonough School of Business Gay and Lesbian Alliance (GALA) serves members of the MBA program who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ), as well as those Allies who support this community. The mission of GALA is to:
- Foster a supportive environment for professional development
- Provide a forum for the discussion of business issues related to sexual orientation
- Facilitate social interaction and networking among students, alumni, and professionals. GALA also serves to promote the Georgetown MBA to prospective students, LGBTQ business leaders, and diversity-minded companies.
Main Activities:
- Speaker series
- Preparation and support for the annual Reaching Out MBA Conference
- Monthly brunches that foster community-building and mentorship between second-year and first-year students
- Cocktail networking receptions with LGBTQ and Allied faculty and staff
- Movie nights and other DC-area activities
